Have Enhanced Reached Their Peak?

Charity National Three Peaks Challenge

Oh yes they certainly have! And reached it 3 times!

Six intrepid volunteers from Enhanced, one of the south’s most dynamic technology for business companies, decided to take on one of the most physical of all challenges, that of climbing "The Three Peaks" and all with one aim, to raise money for "The Sparkle Appeal."

The National Three Peaks challenge involves scaling the 3 highest mountains in Scotland, England and Wales and travelling from location to location, all to be completed within 24 hours.

They all considered themselves to be fairly physically fit, but when confronted with strong winds, heavy rain and appalling conditions they all agreed it was probably the most difficult and demanding challenge they have ever taken on. Marathon runner, Kerrie Young said, "I would rather have run 2 marathons back to back, this was just incredibly hard work" and Managing Director Simon White, who has run several marathons and cycled up the legendary L’Alpe d’Huez, agreed that this was one of his most physically demanding achievements of them all. Best quote has to come from Sarah Pollard, mother of 3 who said "I would rather have another 3 babies than face those peaks again!" Looking at the photo you would be forgiven if you thought this climb was completed in the depths of winter, in fact they took the challenge last week, in mid July! It was Jeremy Gill, Director Enhanced, who lead his team and pushed them all the way. "The Sparkle Appeal is such an amazing local charity, with such a focused aim, and when the pain kicked in we all thought of exactly why we were doing this, and this gave us the momentum to just keep going! I became involved with the charity and have been supporting them since the beginning of the year, and Enhanced is delighted to be able to do whatever we can to help raise the profile and raise money for this wonderful project."

The Sparkle Appeal aims to raise £5million over the next 3-5 years to provide a new therapy pool, therapy centre, life skills flat and classrooms for the children and young people at Victoria Education and Sports Centre, Poole.
